The food at Escola Canarinho is a combination of great affection and technical knowledge. Our nutritionist and former student, Rafaella Dusi, takes care of every detail. The menu, suitable for the age group of our canarians, always prioritizes the habit of healthy eating.
At lunch and dinner, we offer all food groups: tubers, cereals, legumes, proteins, vegetables and vegetables. Since the introduction of food, which usually occurs around 6 months of age, babies receive food separately, which allows the identification of colors, flavors and textures, and helps in the proper formation of taste. This posture usually contributes to less food selectivity, between 2 and 5 years of age.
In this age group, through the combination of foods, nutritious farofas and colorful purées are created, which are very well accepted by children. Flaxseed flour is also part of the mixture strategy and appears in our beans to enrich it. Our foods are always roasted, boiled (in water or steamed) or sautéed. Raw salad is offered every day!
In our snacks, fruit juices are well diluted and offered in controlled amounts, as excess fructose can be harmful to health. With the juices, children get in touch with the taste of less conventional fruits, such as cupuaçu and soursop.
For bread, biscuits and snacks we use wheat flour, linseed or sesame. In addition to being a source of good fats, these elements increase the amount of fiber.
And with a lot of creativity, you can even mix zucchini in cocoa cake! And isn't that what makes the biggest success?! Colorful tapioca with beetroot or spinach, cakes with banana or raisins to help sweeten it, watercress in the meat sauce, pink cheese bread, Hulk juice and much more!!
