Escola Canarinho was born from the dream of a teacher and her husband who were transferred to Brasília in the 1970s. Their dream was to develop an educational project that would form true citizens: a school for building a more just, fraternal and cooperative world. Ivete de Azevedo Cianni and Humberto Cianni chose a name for this institution: Canarinho – cheerful, singing and Brazilian bird, symbol of freedom.

On May 2, 1974, the Canarinho School was inaugurated and, like the new capital, it grew rapidly. At that time, Solange, Denise and Simone were already helping their parents, learning from them on a daily basis. Pedagogues trained and applied their knowledge at the institution itself, when they took over its management, in the mid-1990s. Currently, Aunt Ivete's grandchildren, Thiago, Carol and Humberto, run the school and are responsible for continuing the tradition. do Canarinho: investing in education, working on values and training citizens.
